I am reading the English translation and it is amazing. I intend to send the book to Russia for a 7 year old and I wanted to be sure it was suitable for his age. I cannot comment on the Russian original, but I bet it is wonderful too.

Enjoyable to read. Easy layout with Russian on the left page and English on the right. Good for practicing general comprehension as it isn't a word by word translation so that the author could bring the essence of the story to life in English using poetic form.
The Little Humpbacked Horse is a beloved Russian classic, written in the 1830s.
